Presentation of a System for the Evaluation and Control of Maritime Safety in Port Access and Operation

During the Smart Cities & Smart Ports, Conference, held in Madrid, Siport21 has presented a System for the Evaluation and Control of Maritime Safety in Port Access and Operation, aimed at improving decision making related to the access and/or the stay of the vessels at port.

This new product -intended for Port Authorities, Maritime Authorities, Terminal Operators, Port Pilot Organizations or Shipping companies, among others- will be an essential tool for the optimization of ship operations, control of operational limits due to weather conditions or tide, increase of port capacity, assignment of optimized navigation assistance and optimization of infrastructure development.

In this way, maritime safety will be reinforced by reducing the number of accidents and/or their severity, paying special attention to dangerous goods which might cause environmental damages. Other benefit is related to optimization of operations, which leads to reduction of fuel consumption (ships, tugs, etc.) and emissions (CO2, NOx, SOx).  Siport21 is based on their experience in ship manoeuvring and simulation for decision making to develop this system.
