Spanish Maritime Cluster give the 2016 Training Award to Siport21

premioclusterSiport21 has received the 2016 Spanish Maritime Cluster Award for her experience in the field of Seafarers Training –Captains, Pilots and Tug Masters- in her Real-Time Manoeuvring Simulation Center.

Since it was established, this maritime and port consultancy company carried out a line of business based on Seafarers Training Programs, specifically designed to cover the objectives of the client. To this aim, Siport21 developed a DNV-GL approved methodology tailor made for the client, aimed at training seafarers in specific situations, using vessels where they usually sail and specific ports selected by the shipping companies.

These courses are carried out in the Simulation Center of the Company in Las Rozas (Madrid). Their staff were pioneers in the use of ship simulators in Spain and they have the most upgraded technology in this kind of facilities.

clusterawardNowadays, Siport21 has carried out 330 Training Programs in her Simulation Center with the attendance of more than 1.000 Captains and Chief Officers from 28 international shipping companies: Knutsen, Elcano, Teekay, Qatargas, BP, Gaslog, K-Line, Maersk Line, Qatargas, Shell, among others. In addition, training sessions for Pilots from more than 20 Spanish ports and other 20 international ports.

Maritime Resource Management (MRM) courses are also available in this Training Center. The aim of these courses is to minimize the risk of incidents by encouraging safe and responsible behaviour. The courses meet the requirements laid down in the IMO International Convention on Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCWS), celebrated in 1978.
