Real-Time Bridge Simulator

With Siport21′s Real-Time Bridge Simulator (MERMAID 500, Marin) it is possible to evaluate the viability of a specific manoeuvring strategy in different meteorological conditions including the human factor. Ideas are therefore gained as to the most appropriate way of carrying out the manoeuvre and the number and power of the tugs needed for its execution can be defined.
Our simulator has been developed by MARIN-MSCN (Holland). The simulator includes a mathematical model which calculates the ship’s track and motion, with two important characteristics, Interactivity and Real-time operation. It is the Pilot or Captain who decides and executes the actions on the helm, the engine and the tugs so that the ship follows a safe trajectory. For this aim, the simulator includes a bridge mock-up with the main instruments (rudder bar, engine telegraph, indicators, etc.) and visual information on the external surroundings is received via a radar screen and a view of the manoeuvring zone(260º wide screen).
With all these characteristics, the system obtains very precise results as it takes into account human actions in the maneuvers execution gathering most of the relevant variables.

Port Models
Nowadays, Siport21 has several models of national and international ports.
