Siport21 recovers pre-Covid activity levels by midyear

The port simulation leader company, Siport21, starts the second semester of 2021 with normal activity levels and profitability. The corporation has closed the first semester with a strong recovery in business supported by the intense reactivation of the port sector around the world. A prudent policy during these months has allowed profitability to rise to the usual positive values, and good prospects are forecast for the end of the year.

The world COVID pandemic has created uncertainty in the markets, decreased international activity, postponed investment decisions and reduced mobility. After 20 positive years, this situation has negatively impacted the company income. Training activity in the Simulation Center was particularly affected due to travel restrictions of the seafarers.

Given the situation, the company has been able to adapt to the needs of the clients. A streaming live simulation system was developed allowing to achieve the objectives of the projects with high quality, as participants acknowledge. Nowadays, training in person is progressively returning with all health protection measures in place. An increase in this activity is foreseeable, as the vaccine administration progresses and the restrictions to travel are removed.

In the upcoming months, Siport21 wants to focus on their national and international activity, develop new markets and services and manage the internal and outer digitalization process. All based on an attitude of optimism, motivation, alertness and vision towards the future.
